Some guy, 8 years ago, makes a $400 donation to some ballot proposition campaign and when he gets appointed as a CEO of some organization everyone shits their pants.
But now the company Lyft which wants to introduce service in New York City gets blocked from doing so. And no one gives crap. 23andme, a company which simply provided people with information about their own DNA gets blocked. No one gives a crap.
What gets me to is, what would the fascists do if the ride-sharing were simply free? In fact, in Germany there is a website mitfahrgelegenheit.de which is run by that country’s equivalent of AAA which enables people to offer and to find rides for free. Whatever happened to freedom. If someone wants to give someone a ride, why t.f. is that anyone else’s business?
Supposedly, the story line goes, all these grubby tech people are making the world better. And by “grubby tech people” I don’t mean just technically-inclined people, or people into Open Source, but the disgusting gold-digging ones who only think of ways to capitalize off things instead of ways to benefit people. The entire mentality which has affected so many is a disease.
I don’t see things getting better. America is a disgusting, fascist place. People are so engrossed in their indulgence, so fat, spoiled, lazy, and stupid that things are going down the tube fast.
America has morphed into a disgusting, fascist, rotten oligarchy.
