Watching this new drama and there’s this scene inside the lead character’s apartment. This was the first scene where you can see more of the interior including the stove area with the ventilation hood.
There’s something about this interior – it is so airy yet so grounded and Earthy. It seems like the dark hardwood floor sets everyting else in the apartment off and the continuity of everything is superlative.
I wonder about the light that we see coming in from the left side. Is that natural light? If so, it seems that the apartment itself might flow in a special way to the outside environment where it is set.
As much as I admire the design, I probably would not function well in this apartment. The desk/workspace area seems to small to me and to sparse. I need lots of room for manyt things – papers, miscellaneous items, etc. If I had a desk like that there’s no way it would stay that uncluttered and neat for more than probably a couple hours.
After a week there would probably be large stacks of papers and other materials all over the floor surrounding the area.
The stove area is unique but I need to have counter space adjacent to my cooking apparati. I cannot be cutting and chopping things at one area then constantly going back and forth to the cooking pots.
This looks like a kind of place that I might rent for a week’s vacation or something, but my ideal place would probably be more like some thatched hut in a small village in southeast asia, where everything is at floor level including the cooking area. My ideal desk area, kitchen, and reclining space would be at the ground level. For some reason I just like being close to the Earth.
One thing I love about this drama so far is that they keep playing excerpts of the Adagio Cantabile from Beethoven’s “Pathetique” piano sonata. I always love the soundtracks of jdramas and they inspire me to pursue my own music more avidly.
