There is an article on the Internet that appears on many sites. Here is one of them: SLAVERY IN AMERICA: Who Really Owned and Operated the Slave Trade?
The article is attributed to a Walter White Jr., and it presents a damning picture of Jews in the early colonial days of America and their involvement in the slave trade and also in trading liquor with native Americans, essentially impugning them on starting the process of getting many native Americans addicted to alcohol which as we know has been a problem up to the present day.
The first Jew to begin trading with the Indians was Hayman Levy, who imported cheap glass beads, textiles, earrings, armbands and other cheap adornments from Holland which were traded for valuable fur pelts. Hayman Levy was soon joined by Jews Nicholas Lowe and Joseph Simon. Lowe conceived the idea of trading rum and whiskey to the Indians and set up a distillery in Newport, where these two liquors were produced. Within a short time there were 22 distilleries in Newport, all of them owned by Jews, manufacturing and distributing ‘firewater.’ The story of the debauching of the Indians with its resultant massacres of the early settlers, is a dramatic story in itself.
I’m to research this. I began searching for keywords like “Nicholas Lowe” “Newport” “Rum” and several variations, but found nothing except many links to the same article above on different sites. If you search for this: “nicholas lowe” “rum” “rhode island” -“soon joined by” you will see almost nothing. This will filter out the above article. One result is from kkk.com, another from christiansfortruth.com.
So then I began searching for the supposed author: “Walter White Jr.” “slavery” to see what would come up. Basically I’m finding nothing.
The closest thing I could find as in investigation into this is the article Where the False Claim That Jews Controlled the Slave Trade Comes From.
It does not mention anywhere a “Walter White Jr.” and instead discusses another book, The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, Volume One that was promoted by the Louis Farrakhan fanatical organization Nation of Islam.
The fact that the article is on a site “My Jewish Learning” will cause some people to immediately dismiss it.
The article claims to source much of its information from the book “Documents Illustrative of the History of the Slave Trade in America” which is available here.
Searching for “carnegie” “Documents Illustrative of the History of the Slave Trade in America” again gives very, very weird result – site after site with the exact same quote as the above article.
I’m also reading about Aaron Lopez who is mentioned in the article and was indisputably a major slave trader.
I would like more information about the allegation that a Jew named Nicholas Lowe was responsible for initiating trade of rum to native Americans.
Another interesting article I found on another note is: How Jewish Bootleggers Saved the Day During Prohibition.
An Italian accent, a suit, and a Tommy gun — it’s the classic stereotype of the classic Prohibition bootlegger that’s been glorified in popular culture for decades. But there was actually another, larger group of people who had more influence on where people got their illegal drinks: the Jews.
It’s impossible to know the exact number of criminals involved in bootlegging during Prohibition, but historians believe that fully 60 percent were Jewish.
