At This Point Does It Even Matter?

sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com: Intel Corp Mulls Building New U.S. Chip Fab to Hedge Against Asia Supply Disruption

SANTA CLARA (AP) — Intel is talking to the Trump administration about building a new semiconductor plant in the United States amid concern about relying on suppliers in Asia for chips used in a wide variety of electronics.

A spokesman for Intel, the biggest American chip maker, said Sunday that the company is in discussions with the Defense Department about improving domestic technology sources. Spokesman William Moss said Santa Clara, California-based Intel is well-positioned to work with the government “to operate a U.S.-owned commercial foundry.”

If a fab had been built in the United States, in a place like Michigan, Ohio, or Pennsylvania in the 1990’s or 2000’s – back when the U.S. system of higher education was still American – before it had been given away to foreigners – this move might have meant something.

But as it stands, the statement “build a chip plant in the United States” doesn’t even have meaning because – with over 1.5 million foreign workers stealing high-technology jobs in the United States – with the entire system of higher education having been given away to foreigners – with native U.S. citizens severely fucked over by greedy corporations and by their own government – this statement has no meaning. Because this is no longer the United States.

If indeed a plant is built, who would staff it? Well, just look at who is already working in Silicon Valley, in which Santa Clara is the heart: 70% of the tech workers are foreign born.

All this announcement amounts to is a joke on top of a joke.

This move is no different than the billionaire globalists in the DW TV documentary on inequality who sit around and plot where to place their chips on the global board to maximize their profits. It is a move intended to ensure the chips are strategically placed so they can make more chips. It has jack shit to do with benefiting native U.S. citizens.
