Got a new used 2K monitor recently and have been searching torrent sites for either 2K (1440p) or 4K (2160p) videos to play on it. Most of the 1440p videos are porn videos as are many 4k ones, but I’ve had some luck finding interesting 4k videos including this site which has a bunch of free ones: Jaw Dropping 4K UHD Videos.

I’m finding that some 4k videos are a challenge for my Thinkpad T550, with only an Intel graphics card, to play. I recommend to play the videos directly from your computer’s internal hard drive – they can be choppy played over a network drive. I’ve also found them to be choppy with both VLC and SMplayer but am having success with mpv.
I have a special love for redwood forests and feel bad when I haven’t been in one for too long. I hope videos like this will help people appreciate Earth more.
People don’t spend enough time in nature but when I’m up on the trails, especially on weekends, I see people in pairs or small groups yammering away incessantly as they walk. I wish I could tell them to shut the fuck up and just experience the precious presence of something profound.
