When Nations Become Cruel

“Another mark of a tyrant is that he likes foreigners better than citizens… for the one are enemies, but the others enter into no rivalry with him.”

— Aristotle

When nations become cruel they destroy themselves. Slavery is cruel. The disastrous effects of slavery are still unfolding in the United States. It is far from over. Far from over, as the many, many victims every year know extremely well.

When nations become cruel you will read about torture in the news. Involved in geopolitical conflicts which cost hundreds of thousands or millions of human lives and cost trillions of dollars, a nation may engage in acts of barbaric cruelty as it prosecutes its war against peoples. Things like Abu Ghraib will happen.

When nations become cruel “the economy” will matter a lot. It will matter more than justice, than honor, than integrity. People will be betrayed in profound acts of cruelty in the name of the economy.

Flooding a country with tens of millions of legal and illegal immigrants is a profound act of cruelty against the citizens who now face vastly inflated housing costs, decreased wages, decreased educational and other opportunities, communities which become alien and lose cohesion, and community resources drained in so many different ways as the costs of the immigration are transferred onto taxpayers.

When nations become cruel human beings will lose their will to achieve because there’s nothing left to really achieve for. The things that make a nation a pleasant place to live, that make life inspiring, are destroyed. Citizens witness the acts of cruelty occurring. They witness the constant propaganda. lies, and gaslighting being committed and they recognize clearly that their society has become cruel. People lose their will to exist in cruel societies and rightly so. Hence you will see a sharp escalation in deaths due to people trying to escape it all via drugs. There is no point living in a cruel, vicious world, no point in striving to better oneself when the grounds for brahmanic cultivation are continually destroyed.

A society that is cruel is a society destroying itself and destroying life. During such a time there will be kings and queens who wield “power” and have “success”. They will claim to care about human rights and justice but they are liars.
