‘Shame and anger’ and plastic ocean pollution??

Here’s an article at bbc.com about the ‘shame and anger’ of scientists who were advising a team creating a documentary called Blue Planet II. The article goes on to give examples of birds that were affected or injured by pollution.

I don’t get this though. I really don’t. You can’t be angry at pollution. Pollution is created by people.

I see shocking, abhorrent amounts of litter right around where I live. The litter is unsightly and terrible. And yes I always think about how it can get into the ocean and cause significant problems.

But pollution is caused by people and it is the result of a fucked-up, mismanaged society that allows ignorant, destructive people to cause harm (as they do in so many other ways).

It’s sad that people don’t focus their anger on the real cause of pollution. Perhaps because it’s not politically correct or a spiritually comfortable thing to do.

This is a great example of how Earth doesn’t give a fuck about how humans attain evolution or why they fail to. Evolution must be the goal of humanity, not some fucked-up, pie-in-the-sky, feel-good bullshit about equality and rights that only causes suffering and harm.
