“On a planet of cities, affordability is social justice.”??? BS!!!

I just read an essay/article Unaffordable cities: this criminal lack of housing is a global scandal. What is truly scandalous is not the fact that market forces are causing scarcity in certain markets due to increased demand, it is the sheer stupidity of the author. How can someone write a sentence like above seriously, at a time when overpopulation is the most serious issue affecting the planet? When governments are so disfunctional they cannot even promote much less provide birth control domestically to all those who want it much less to other countries in dire need of it, whose hoardes of illiterate, unskilled people clamor to get into the country and, once in, are induced through stupid laws to have anchor babies?

Maybe housing is scarce because there are too many fucking people and governments are too catastropically disfunctional to curb overpopulation and illegal immigration?
