I was reading how Homo floresiensis lived alongside Komodo dragons, giant rats, and other giant lizards which made me search for images of the Flores giant rat, leading to above. These animals are so cute I could almost cry.
When I read about the mythical species Orang Pendek it also makes me cry to think that not very long ago there was a totally other species living peacefully side-by-side with humans but who didn’t last. I imagine a Homo floresiensis person looking at me their bushy hair, a beautiful smile, and this far off cosmic light in their eyes. How precious that we humans could have had a living relative like this (and maybe still do?) to share our Earth with and to remember our common origin with all other living creatures.
I wish the guy above or someone would come under the dome and give a talk about the beautiful Flores giant rats.
Over the years I have interviewed many witnesses who have seen this creature [Orang Pendek].
In 2009 the CFZ expedition was fortunate to have an eyewitness ourselves in Dave Archer, and Sahar Didmus saw one pinned against a tree, before it scurried away from us into the jungle. The experience so moved Sahar that he burst into tears!
