The Süddeutsche Zeitung (South-German Times) has a mind-blowing online slideshow of color images taken in 1914, right before the outbreak of the horrific First World War.
Can you image what it would be like if there were color photos from, say, the time of Bach or perhaps the time of Socrates?
When I see the slideshow I look at each picture and think deeply about the things that people didn’t have then. We are used to so many things, so many modern conveniences, that its getting difficult to imagine what it would be like without them all.
