Bicyclists’ defense technology

This stuff is coming and it couldn’t be too soon. There’s a dire need to combat the rampant hostility, aggression, and bodily endangerment posed by motor vehicles to bicyclists on roadways in the United States.

Loud – 112 dB horn for bicycles:

Orp – 76/96 dB horn/light for bicycles:

This Orp video also shows quite clearly how bicyclists get killed by right-turning trucks. The bottom line is that a bicyclist must *never* – aboslutely never! – place themselves in a position where they are alongside a truck at an intersection – ever! A bicyclist must *ALWAYS* go to the LEFT of a truck and all other vehicles!. Always!

It is fully legal to do so. In fact, given the road conditions in many cities, its perfectly legal for a bicycle to use the left lane! A bicycle should use any lane they need to feel and be safe. If a cop wants to stop and give shit to a bicyclist for using a left lane when there are a bunch of right-turning vehicles along a road let them and then go to court and tell the judge that you were to the left for reasons of safety.

GoPro cameras – can be mounted on helmet or to bicycle, record illegal and threatening actions of motor vehicle drivers

xFire bike lane safetey light
This looks really cool for night time bicycling however its not clear if its difficult/impossible to properly mount and adjust in some circumstances (e.g. on a rear bike rack). Also, one major issue is that the lanes it creates appear to create a margin far narrower than the 3 or 4 feet recommended for safety.
