One of the first things I did when moving into my apartment a few years ago was get a bath mat for the tub. I didn’t want to be responsible for anyone slipping and getting hurt in the shower. I couldn’t imagine a situation where someone slipped and required medical help and the mess it would cause.
The first mat I got was ok. It was a premium white one and had a kind of spongy consistency to it. But it quickly became discolored. Every now and then I’d fill the tub with a few inches of water and some bleach to clean it but the discoloration never really faded entirely.
I finally decided to replace it the other day. I found this really cool green bath mat with a “seaweed” texture at the department store. The color actually matches the deep green translucent outer shower curtain in my bathroom perfectly so now there’s this kind of deep green theme going on in there which I like.
The inner shower curtain is an opaque brown one which I got for privacy. Its nice that people can use the shower and feel a little bit of privacy.
I love my bathroom tech and am always interested in improving it. I invested in a really cool, high-quality all-stainless steel shower head which is so much nicer than the cheaper ones. I also installed a valve to be able to connect a shower hose for a future project.
I would love to be a designer of bathrooms. I think a bathroom should be more like a sacred space, a temple if you will where the precious water of life flows. I recently was organizing and decided to put some rocks I had collected on a mountain and some sea shells I collected from the shore in my bathroom around the sink area. It seems simple but it has this really cool effect and is now inspiring me for all these new ideas not just for my home but for my entire life.
