Paying money to a company for television access is disgusting. I’m saddened that anyone would do it. It is harmful to the individual and to society. Money should not be given to these companies. They are all atrocious and are responsible for a significant amount of damage to society.
I used to sometimes enjoy reading news articles and watching many of the extensive videos offered via Al-Jazeera’s website. It now turns out that, as it has started broadcasting over cable in America, those videos are no longer available on its website. Al-Jazeera quite sickeningly was extorted to do this by the major cable companies. They want to force people to pay them to access news. This is sickening and I’m sad that Al-Jazeera caved-in to the extortion.
Al-Jazeera has quite definitely cut off its nose to spite its face. In order to appease the disgusting media monopolies so that it can broadcast through their networks, it had to cut off access to its content. What a bad, bad model.
