This is a really nice documentary about the Sun. But what really struck me was an episode 14 minutes into it when they are witnessing a total solar eclipse.
Anyone who’s seen even a partial eclipse, such as the 12 May 2012 annular eclipse in California, knows how moving such an experience it is. We creatures of Earth live under the Sun our entire lives yet only on the rarest occasions does something disrupt that connection and gives us a view that is different.
What strikes me about the episode in this documentary is something extraordinary about human beings: for just watching her is like experiencing the eclipse oneself. Humans have a unique ability to transmit through their emotions experiences in other places and times.
