I did some research and found out that the building which forms much of the scenery for this drama series in an upscale area of Tokyo across the street from a non-religious building which is a copy of a Gothic cathedral that can be rented for weddings, parties, or other events.
Such a beautiful setting and wonderful architecture are things which can be found in upscale areas anywhere in the world, but are not what many if not most in the world who are not privileged would be able to enjoy unfortunately.
It makes me reflect on what prosperity really is. One thing I do know is that Japan has a much lower Gini coefficient than the US. When I was in Germany I also remember that it seemed like in general there were more beautiful things available to more people because it is a mutual value of society to have quality, good things which are pleasing and of benefit for all, not simply hoarded by those who’ve connived the most or won the “competition” against their brothers and sisters and therefore enjoy the privilege of being able to hoard which is the reward given.
