I am sorry for writing the previous negative post about Hostgator. I realize that they work very hard to maintain their systems and to provide excellent support. I took them for granted and got upset about one thing.
I did have to change the “push mail” settings for the Android mail app “K9” which I was using on both the tablet and the phone. Basically it turns out that push mail keeps an open socket with the IMAP server and this means the IMAP daemon is keeping processes for each one running all the time. I’m still not 100% sure why this is an issue since I wouldn’t think that a process like that would consume anything more than a miniscule amount of resources. Anyhow, by turning off push mail it resolved the problem of the process limit for my account being reached and since then all my domains have been constantly up.
Hostgator is actually a very good company with a high standard and I feel sorry that I got upset.
