I love when I read those interesting, creative tips on lifehacker.com. Today I would like to contribute one I came up with:
Ever had a belt where the end of the belt, while you are wearing it, is so long that it droops down? Most belts have a loop to hold the end in place. But the end may be so long that it extends well past the loop and droops down. And some, like a double-ring pull-fastening, nylon weave one I recently got, have no loop at all.
There actually can be instances when this is a desired, fashionable look. But then having the belt end flopping around can also be annoying, and after a while the return on the fashionability can just diminish.
I thought about what to use to hold the end in place so that it would not droop down. I thought of using a hairpin, yet a hairpin is not ideal. They generally don’t have enough gripping power to really hold the belt all day, especially if you are out moving around or dancing.
Finally one day when I was cleaning up my dressing table I came across the perfect solution: a clear, elastic hair band. They are very strong, designed not to break, and have good holding power. They are available in clear which will work with any color material for a belt. If you get one the right size it should constrict the belt just a little bit so that it won’t fall off when you’re storing the belt, but not too tight that it can curl the belt and possibly cause it to deform over time while in storage.
There are different brands and sizes of these bands available.
Yaay! I came up with my own life-hacking tip!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
